Town Election News
Opening week has seen a lot of interest in running for local office on May 2. The following candidates have pulled nomination papers:
- Moderator (1 year term): Michael J. Puzo, a candidate for re-election
- Select Board (3 year term): William C. Ramsey, a candidate for re-election
- Board of Health (3 year term): Elizabeth A. Eldredge, a candidate for re-election
- Municipal Light Board (3 year term): Joseph M. Fisher
- School Committee (3 year term): Jennifer A. Benham, a candidate for re-election and Henry Randolph Buckley
- Planning Board (5 year term): Gary Stephen Tondorf-Dick, a candidate for re-election
- Recreation Commissioner (5 year term): Matt LeBretton, a candidate for re-election
If you are interested in running, please call ahead at (781) 741-1410 to schedule an appointment to pick up your nomination papers. The filing deadline is March 13, 2026.
Fifty verified voter signatures are required to be placed on the ballot.
Note, polling hours for the Town Election on Saturday, May 2 have changed and will be 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Annual Street Listing Census
The Annual Street Listing Census arrived on January 1. Please review, update, sign and return to the Town Clerk within 10 days. Do read the instructions on the back or call if you have questions on the form.
- If a voter in your household has moved out of Hingham, please note on the form along with their new address/contact information and obtain the voter’s signature.
- In order to remove a voter from the household, the voter’s signature is required.
Failure to respond to the Census for two (2) consecutive years shall result in removal from the active voter list and may result in removal as a registered voter.
The Annual Census forms may be dropped off in the red, white and blue Town Clerk Ballot/Census Drop Box located in front of Town Hall or may be returned by mail.
