Road Construction Ahead Sign

The Town of Hingham is anticipating to repave and/or reconstruct the entire length or sections of the following roads in 2025.

Reconstruction/Paving/Microsurfacing

  • Downer Avenue (Limits of Foster School repaving to Otis Street)
  • Otis Street (Downer Avenue to Governor Long)
  • Beal Street (Southbound lane, Churchill Road to Fottler Road)
  • Scotland Street (Main Street to Mark Lane)
  • Palmers Lane 
  • Polk Road
  • Fairfield Street 
  • Fulling Mill Lane
  • Ward Street (108 Ward Street to 10 Ward Street)

Microsurfacing Only

  • Wompatuck Road 
  • Planters Field Lane 
  • Crow Point Lane
  • Westmoreland Road 
  • Highfield Road 
  • Southgate Lane
  • Hope Road 
  • Forest Lane 
  • Hoover Road
  • Cutter Hill Road 
  • Codman Road 
  • Huntley Road
  • Main Street (Crooked Meadow Lane to Longmeadow Road)
  • Ward Street (Cushing Street to 108 Ward Street)

The Town is also planning for a significant reconstruction of the Fountain Square intersection, providing new pedestrian facilities (sidewalks, an RRFB enhanced crosswalk) and improving vehicle intersection geometry at the Lincoln Street and North Street vehicular intersection.

The exact scheduling dates for each roadway will be dependent on contractor scheduling and weather conditions. Paving and microsurfacing dates are currently pending. Additional notice will be provided when the work is scheduled.

Some work may take place overnight or during early morning hours to minimize any inconvenience this may cause you. You may experience travel delays during this time. Parking restrictions will be in effect while the work is executed, until the roadway is reopened for travel. We apologize for any inconvenience.
