In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, Hingham Mental Health Task force has sponsored a poignant flag display from August 29th to September 2nd on the lawn of the North Street Community Church of the Nazarene at 235 North Street, Hingham.
This event aims to raise awareness about the devastating impact of overdose and to remember the lives lost to this epidemic.
The display will feature 222 flags, each representing 10 individuals who have tragically passed away due to overdose in Massachusetts in the year 2023. The flags will be arranged to create a powerful visual statement, reminding the community of the urgency to address the ongoing crisis.
