[ARCHIVED] Road Construction Notice

The Town of Hingham is anticipating to repave and/or reconstruct the entire length or sections of the following roads in 2024. 

 

Reconstruction/Paving

Wompatuck Road (Kimball Beach to Planters Field Lane)

Planters Field Lane

Crow Point Lane

Highfield Road

Southgate Lane

Westmoreland Road

Beal Street (Southbound – Churchill to Fottler)

Microsurfacing Only

Hoover Road

Forest Lane

Codman Road

Huntley Road

Hope Road

Cutter Hill Road

Wompatuck Road (Kimball Beach to End)


The exact scheduling dates for each roadway will be dependent on contractor scheduling and weather conditions. The Town currently anticipates mobilizing reclamation equipment to Wompatuck Road on or around August 16th to reclaim Wompatuck Road, Planters Field Lane, Crow Point Lane, and the southbound lane of Beal Street between Churchill and Fottler. Reclamation equipment would mobilize to the Highfield Road, Westmoreland Road, and Southgate Lane neighborhood in September. Paving and microsurfacing dates are currently pending. Additional notice will be provided when the work is scheduled.

Some work may take place during early morning hours to minimize any inconvenience this may cause you.  You may experience minor travel delays during this time.  On-street parking from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm will not be permitted.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

NOTE:  The Town of Hingham or its’ contractors are not responsible for the replacement of or significant readjustment of driveways or walkways, or for the replacement or readjustment of any materials such as pavers, cobblestones, bricks, landscape borders, cement structures, private underground utilities (i.e. electric, irrigation, etc.), or other objects which are placed within the town layout without permission.
