[ARCHIVED] Weir River Water System - Update on Discoloration | June 24, 2024

News Logo for Weir River Water System

Veolia continues to work with the Weir River Water System to remove discolored water and replace it with clean, clear,  fresh water from our treatment facility and storage tank.

Flushing operations have proven effective, as the discolored water within the distribution system has been largely removed and replaced. The flushing efforts have been suspended for now, and Veolia personnel are currently assisting individual customers who are experiencing issues within their homes.

We are diligently monitoring the source water quality and will be conducting further testing throughout the distribution system today. Veolia and the Weir River Water System have taken all actions recommended by MassDEP and will continue their work to mitigate the discoloration, providing updates as additional information becomes available.

Any residents still experiencing discoloration over the next few days should please continue to reach out to WRWS at wrcs@veolia.com, operations@weirriverwater.com.
