Board and Committee Volunteers

Volunteer

Citizen engagement and voluntarism are at Hingham’s core.  Serving on a Town board or committee is interesting, engaging, and of extraordinary value to the Town and volunteers alike.  With a broad range of boards and committees, there is something right for everyone in terms of time, talent, and interest.

Each spring, the Town seeks applicants to fill various vacancies on boards and committees.  After a general call for interested residents to submit Talent Bank Applications, the Select Board and the Moderator conduct interviews seeking to match volunteers with open positions.  Terms for boards and committees usually range from one to five years, with most people serving for three-year terms.

Simply fill out a Talent Bank Application to highlight your interests and background.  Volunteer opportunities abound in Hingham and your willingness to serve is an essential element of our community’s continuing commitment to self-government.
