It’s time for Hingham’s 2025 50 Flags Campaign, a wonderful tradition started 14 years ago. Since its inception, the Campaign has grown to over 20,000 Flags flying around Hingham over the 2 weeks surrounding July 4th.
The 50 Flags Campaign is the top fundraising source for the 4th of July Parade. The annual cost to put on the parade is approximately $55,000 – including the red, white and blue lines along the parade route. The funds come from fundraisers, sponsorships, and donations: No tax dollars are allocated to the costs of the parade.
80% of the gross proceeds from your 50 Flag rental donations will go towards growing/maintaining our flag inventory and funding the 2025 July 4th parade. The balance will go to the volunteer youth groups that complete the installations and removals. Last year $7,500 went towards the volunteer groups.
The flag installations will be for two weeks, starting the weekend of June 27th & 28th. Removals will be done July 11th & 12th. This Campaign is very labor intensive; we rely on volunteers from many of the Hingham High School sports teams: football, soccer, field hockey, track, crew, baseball, tennis, hockey, wrestling and lacrosse. South Shore SNAP, Hingham Youth Football and town citizens also help in the installations and removals.
