How to Clear Discolored Water from Your Water Service
- Run the cold water from an outside spigot closest to where your water service enters your home or business
- If you do not have an outside spigot please run the cold water only to a facet or bathtub
- Let the water run for 10–15 minutes, or until it becomes clear
- If the water does not clear after 15 minutes, turn the faucet off and wait 30–60 minutes before trying again
- Do not use hot water until the cold water is clear to prevent sediment from entering your hot water tank
- Once the cold water is clear, run the hot water for a few minutes to flush any remaining discolored water from your plumbing
If your water doesn’t clear up after 30 minutes, please submit an email to waterquality@weirriverwater.com to notify. Include your address and phone number.
