The Conservation Commission is proposing updates to the Hingham Wetland Regulations which will be voted on at an upcoming hearing.
The Commission utilized the professional services of the Horsley Witten Group, Inc. to assist with the updates which include, but are not limited to, overall reorganization, new definitions, revisions to resource area performance standards, incorporation of the Buffer Zone mitigation requirements, and changes to the floodplain regulations.
A summary of the proposed revisions and the final draft document are linked below to review and for public comment. Please contact the Conservation Office at conservation@hingham-ma.gov for a redline version of the Regulations (Microsoft Word document) showing proposed edits as tracked changes (with strikethroughs for deleted text and underlines for inserted text) and comments in the right margin. The appendices, including the Bylaw Fee Schedule, have also been updated and are included separately.
The public hearing was opened on 5/18/26 and continued to 6/22/26 for further discussion. It is anticipated that additional hearings will be held before a final vote of the Commission is taken. Please check the Conservation Commission Agenda and Pending Applications for the most up to date information.
